Cyprus is a gloriously beautiful Mediterranean island, covered with legends and myths, breathing history and it is surrounded by marvellous nature. That was a result of the occupation of Northern Cyprus by Turkish aggressors in 1974.

The Island developed a network of four-lane road linking all main cities of Cyprus - the capital Nicosia, Limasol, Larnaca and Paphos. In foreign policy, the Government of the Republic of Cyprus adheres to the policy of non-alignment to the military and political blocs. The Republic of Cyprus is a member of the United Nations (1960), the Non-Aligned Movement (1960), the Council of Europe (1961), and the British Commonwealth of Nations (1961). Now Cyprus is also a member of the European Union (2004). Official languages ​​of Cyprus are Greek and Turkish. English is a widely spoken language and there is also increased knowledge and use of French and German languages. Cyprus has sufficiently a large Russian community; therefore, Russian language is becoming more popular.
